Ralph T. Heap, M.D., is an orthopedic and reconstructive surgeon, specializing in total joint arthroplasty.

Prior to joining Steward Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center, Dr. Heap provided orthopedic care at general orthopedic practices affiliated with Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Desert Samaritan Hospital, Chandler Regional Hospital, Valley Lutheran Hospital and Arizona Orthopedic Surgical Hospital. He completed pre-medical studies at Arizona State University in Tempe, Ariz. He earned his medical degree and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, Ariz.

A humanitarian at heart, Dr. Heap has generously contributed his orthopaedic and medical expertise to several developing countries — including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Tonga, Bolivia, Nicaragua, Brazil, Belize and Mexico. He has served as a board member and active volunteer for such organizations as the Deseret Foundation, Esperanca and the Beehive Foundation — volunteer-based, non-profit organizations that provide health care to developing countries.
